19th
Century Landscape Watercolors
In the first decades of the 19th century, British watercolor
artists were creating the most advanced and daring images in European
art. This exhibition features new acquisitions of watercolors by British
artists of the nineteenth century, an area of expertise for which the
gallery has been recognized for nearly 20 years.
Hours: Tue-Sat, 11-5.
Prices: $1,500 to $8,500.

Tony
Goosens: Works from the '60s
The eccentric modernist Anton "Tony" Goosens [1904-1980]
was a fixture in the Antwerp art scene of the 1950s and 60s. His highly
stylized work was championed by the young Belgian avant-garde, who included
it in their own sensational, provocative exhibitions in the late 1950s.
From small "3-minute" drawing to large paintings on industrial paneling,
the works in this exhibition reflect Goosen's obsession with the human
face and form as archetypal modernist image. His stylized forms have a
decidedly "retro" look that have become highly fashionable again.
Evening reception: Friday, November 1, 6-9 p.m.
Hours: Tue-Sat, 11-5
Prices: $ 750 to $3,000
